To our School Community,

To say we are in unknown and rare times is an understatement. As a PTA board we wanted to reach out and let our community know that we have been meeting and working on how we can be a resource for our Broadview-Thomson PK-8 families during this closure to reduce the spread of Covid-19. We first want to say thank you to our teachers, staff, and administration for handling this with great care, concern to take care of each of our students.

As we are actively working to share resources for our families that can support what the district might be able to provide, we hope you’ll engage with us. Please follow our Facebook page, as well as keep on the lookout for updates from the school/district/classroom teachers. Situations such as these bring into sharp focus that there is a great lack of equity when it comes to resources and access of such resources.

How You Can Help: Support Our Food Banks

More information will be forthcoming about emergency food services. However, if you are wanting to support and help out while we wait, our local food banks (the Ballard Food Bank and the Bitterlake Food Bank) are in need as they are facing challenges with respect to volunteers and supplies. Ballard Food Bank has ways to help on their web page and what they need to keep moving forward.

Let’s Stay Connected to Help Each Other

Our goal as a PTA is to coordinate with our school and the district to support where we can and be an additional resource and information hub. We hope to be in touch as we move into the next week, and again, please follow our Facebook page as well as be part of our email community. We will also be sharing more via our PTA website, www.broadviewthomsonpta.com.

If you have any questions, concerns, or ideas please feel free to email us at info@broadviewthomsonpta.com or president@broadviewthomsonpta.com

More soon and take care,

Your BTPK8 PTA Board
